Hi friends,
We wanted to let you know that the sweetest little giraffe calf was born to mum 15-year-old Korongo on Friday midday. While we would love to shout about it from the rooftops (because goodness knows the wild population of giraffes is in such a vulnerable place right now) we are being cautious because the little one and mum are yet to fully bond. 🦒🦒
As you can imagine, our keepers and vet team are monitoring the situation very closely and will help wherever they can. Naturally, we will endeavour to update you. 😍
Visitors to Monarto Safari Park might well see the young calf (thought to be female) in the exhibit but we feel it’s fair to say that she might also be off limits at times if, for example, we feel the need to…
